genius child celebrates the freedom to imagine without limits, embrace our peculiarities, and delight in the playful irreverence of being entirely ourselves. its lopsided twists evoke the unruly imagination of childhood, before uniqueness becomes something to correct, conceal, or outgrow.
taking its name from Langston Hughes’ poem Genius Child, this vessel carries the qualities that make a child seem mischievous, ungovernable, or unruly, and asks what happens when those same qualities become essential to survival and self-definition.
